![]() I've been keeping my eyes open for modern multicoated objectives to make a 'user' pair. There is shrapnel damage in the eyepiece barrel, so I assume they were coated when returned for repair. I have a late war coated pair but the objectives are toast, cleaned with (I assume) a sand contaminated rag back in the day. The flaks are great despite the lack of coatings and necessity for relubing and internal cleaning. I understand these codes were standard across the military optics. The Eye of the Flak book must have made this info more accessible, a quick search now pops up many of the X, O and letter codes, if you are interested. ![]() Unfortunate, as otherwise I would add it here. Heck of an interesting post in that link, John.ģ or 4 years back I found bits and pieces all across the internet regarding the various circles, triangles and colors used on the WWII German flak 10x80 binos, but never collated it into a postable list since militaria wasn't my interest. ![]()
